2 Sisters signs up to Feeding Britain’s Future

Feeding Britain’s Future (FBF) is an initiative linking companies in the food industry with young people looking for work. Youth employability is high on the agenda at the moment – with food companies, Government and retailers all taking interest. Feeding Britain’s Future is a great opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the food industry to help young people get into work.

FBF’s ‘Skills for Work Month’ will be held in September 2014 and 2 Sisters be taking part again. Skills for Work Month works with employers and local job centres to provide young people with engaging, practical activities which will build their employment skills. It also develops awareness among young people of the career opportunities available in the food industry.
A FBF success story

Last year we celebrated success as a result of this initiative with one of the placement students gaining full time work with us.  Initially, she worked on reception at our Wakefield service centre but the placement went well and she was offered a trial as in accounts payable where she now works as a permanent member of the team. This young person had qualifications but no practical work experience and Feeding Britain’s Future gave her that stepping stone into the workplace.
